Absolute Dental provides gum disease treatments at our general dental facility.
What Causes Gum Disease?
Plaque that has hardened and formed into to tartar causes gingivitis. Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums and is a mild form of gum disease. At this stage, it can usually be reversed with daily brushing, flossing, and routine checkups with your dentist. However, if left untreated, gingivitis can advance and become periodontitis. This form of gum disease is recognized when gums pull away from the teeth and form spaces that become infected. An untreated infection can lead to bone, gum, and tissue loss.
